Jon: Fashion Fail…

Sometimes I think that designers, much like other artists, can be terrible self editors. Once they have an idea for a new style or silhouette, they become so stuck on it that they can’t recognize when it is clearly a failure. Why would any self respecting designer send the following looks down the runway???

I’m all for looking forward and taking fashion risks, but these silhouettes are ridiculous. The Z Zegna look makes this model appear completely pear shaped and squat. The shape of that Viktor and Rolf jacket appears to be cut for a hunchback.

And this is on models! On runways! Imagine what a normal shaped person walking down the street would look like. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but ready-to-wear collections should be wearable.

Fail.

That is a hunchy coat in #2!!!

As for the first… I’ve always hated that type of catwalk layering…
the X-shaped-middle-intersection-of-clothes look. You see it sometimes,
often, with a middle button and NO other buttons employed.
