…International “Next Top Model” Shows abound!
All sorts of shitty countries have taken a cue from Tyra and started their own Next Top Model shows. While some of the spin-offs seem to be fairly legitimate such as the UK, French, Chinese and (the Heidi Klum hosted) German version, other ones have me wondering how the hell they manage to sell the idea. I mean, do backward ass third world countries really have that much modeling work. Personally, I’d rather be ugly and fat in America than the top model of a place like Kazakhstan. Even in the American version, when a contestant wins you never see their ass again until the next
season when they come on and try to convince us they’ve been living this fabulous, jet-setter lifestyle. Yeah right!
All in all there are now 37 versions of this fucking show! Perhaps it wouldn’t seem so crazy if I weren’t so goddamn sick of Tyra Banks and the American version of the show. I think the whole idea is completely tired. It probably doesn’t help than in five years they’ve had ten seasons. There’s no way in hell that there are 10 legitimate “top models” running around because of the show. Rumors are circulating that Tyra will leave the show in the not too distant future. Perhaps some fresh blood will reinvigorate Top Model and convince me to watch it again, but I’m not holding my breath. I think if Miss J Alexander were the new host I’d watch it maybe. Jay Manuel is too much of a yam (i.e., he’s fucking orange).

Man, I TOTALLY love how low-budge the Ghana version is.
Funny enough, Elyse Sewell (http://elysesewell.livejournal.com/) is probably the most successful model to come off the show… And she didn’t even win!
I’d like to go out with an Italian model,
just on the general principle of Italians having….
you know, sauciness.
So be sure to let “the models” know, next time you run into a worldwide modeling entourage.

holy shit, the models on the european shows are still actually ATTRACTIVE. i used to die and obsess over that hsow, but now it’s completely un-watchable. i love the dramz (DUH) but it’s ALL shrieking and almost no MODELING!
I’ve heard that about Eastern European women. A Bulgarian friend I had attributed their rapid demise to their vodka and cigarette intake.
