KEEP IT ON THE BROWNLOWE: Tragically un-heard of.

emBrownlowe

The music industry is quite tragic. Long gone are the days where “mainstream” bands were actually listen-able. (Don’t get me wrong, I like the occasional pop song – in an ironic way, of course). Lucky for music lovers there is an underground wealth of talented bands you can listen to on the internet. Here are some of my friends, acquaintances and bands I wish I knew personally that you HAVE to hear. They range in genre from rock to folk-punk to instrumental jazz-surf to garage pop to alt.blue grass to avant-guard to psych electro etc!

AND FOR FURTHER ENTERTAINMENT AND ENTICEMENT, I will profile and feature a band from this list (or bands I discover in the meantime) once a week! WOOHOO!!!

I keep playing this over and over:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOLnBVx0Ano

It is my current favorite thing IN THE WORLD, although “In the Aeroplane over the Sea” kinda is too… but I can’t get over this video, the look, her playing, her voice, her look.

I haven’t even gotten to playing her CD yet; I just keep listening to this song.

BUT I will play the CD soon.
